DUI/DWI CLASSES

DUI/DWI Level I

This psycho-educational group format is designed to identify those who may be harmfully involved with alcohol and other drugs and to educate all drivers with DUI/DWI related convictions about the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving. This class is designed to help DUI/DWI offenders increase their knowledge about alcohol and drugs as these substances relate to driving skills, to identify their own individual drinking/drug use and driving patterns, and to assist them in developing plans which will reduce the probability of future DUI/DWI behavior.

The level one class is designed for individuals who have been convicted of driving under the influence (DUI/DUI), or a DUI/DWI amended to reckless driving.  This educational class is also intended for those offenders who may be required to secure a drug and alcohol evaluation for an out of state DUI/DWI convictions in order to obtain license for reinstatement.

Specific course topics will include and not be limited:

DUI Level II

This educational drug and alcohol course is designed to specifically address issues pertaining to clients who have been convicted for more than one alcohol or drug related traffic offense. Typically, this class meets the court-ordered requirements for repeat DUI/DWI offenses.

Drug Education

Calvary Counseling Center offers both Levels I and Level II Alcohol & Drug Education Classes. Participants in these classes are provided with information about the biological, psychological, and social consequences of substance use and abuse. An overview of the potential legal consequences of possession and/or use of drugs/alcohol is provided. For those attending the Level I program, there is also an introduction to the signs and symptoms of addiction and its treatment.

Underage Drinking Program

Our Underage Drinking Program is designed for those individuals ages 18 through 20 who have been charged with an alcohol-related offense and who do not meet the clinical criteria for our more intense alcohol and drug treatment programs. This program has two components: an Education Class where an overview of common problems associated with alcohol use/abuse is offered, and short-term Alcohol and Drug Counseling, where individuals explore their reasons for using substances and the related consequences. We examine clients’ thinking, beliefs, and decision making, as well as provide techniques for developing and maintaining a positive lifestyle. The education classes are generally provided in two, day-long weekend sessions, and the counseling groups typically meet one time a week for two hours.

Call today to schedule an immediate private intake. Please call (703) 530-9800. Evening and weekend appointments are available.
