Calvary Counseling Center offers H.O.P.E. (Healthy & Objective Parenting Education), a state approved parent education class. The class is led by co-instructors who have undergone the training required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and have studied and researched the latest information about the importance of parent involvement after separation or divorce. The classes are child-focused and include lecture, discussion and video. Topics covered include the impact of separation on children, parallel parenting and co-parenting strategies, and the needs and rights of your children. This class meets the parent education guidelines established by the Supreme Court of Virginia.
Calvary Counseling Center is now offering Healthy & Objective Parenting Education groups to clients who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Learn more about our Deaf or Hard of Hearing Services.
Please note: Children may not attend the group meetings, be left unattended in the car or wait in the agency's lobby.
- All HOPE classes are held on Sundays from 8-12 noon. The cost of the class is $50 cash and is paid at registration/check in. Please arrive for check in at approximately 7:50 am on the morning of the class. Photo identification is required to attend the parenting class and children are not permitted in class, nor can children be left in the lobby or automobile unattended.
- You must register online. Please note that in order for the class to convene we must have 3 or more participants. All participants who successfully participate and engage in the class will be presented with a certificate of completion at the end of the class.
- All interested participants are required to call on Thursday and or Friday to see if there will be a class held on the Saturday they have registered for.
- Please bring a writing utensil, supplies are limited.
